The MathWorks Opens Three Offices in Japan
July 1, 2009
The MathWorks, developer of mathematical computing software, opened three offices in Japan, transitioning to a direct
sales operation to sell to its expanding Japanese customer base in a broad set of industries including automotive,
communications, electronics, semiconductor, industrial automation and machinery, as well as the academic
community.

Smoothie King plans to open first Japan store in 2010
July 29, 2009
Smoothie King, maker of nutritional fruit smoothies, plans to open a store in Tokyo in 2010. The company will partner
with Smoothies Asia Co. Ltd. of Korea, which successfully developed 57 stores in the Republic of Korea.

inVentiv Health establishes subsidiary in Japan to supply outsourced sales
teams
August 3, 2009
inVentive Health established a Japan subsidiary to provide outsourced sales teams to clients to promote products in
Japan. In a press release, company officials are quoted saying, "Japan is among the largest pharmaceutical markets in
the world and our clients are launching many products into the Japanese market," and "We believe there is significant
opportunity for outsourced sales growth in Japan."
